Belt Grading Excitement at Alanya Budo: Our Young Athletes Move Up to the Next Level

At the Taekwondo belt grading held at the Alanya Budo Sports Club training center, our athletes brought months of hard work onto the mat. The grading was conducted under the responsibility of our training coordinator Ahmet Emir Tekin, while our coach Büşra Ezgi Duman also attended the event. Parents joined in the excitement as their children took another important step forward in their Taekwondo journey. For some, it was the joy of earning a first belt; for others, it was the satisfaction of reaching the next level.
Another special day of Taekwondo development was experienced at Alanya Budo Sports Club.
At the belt grading held at our club’s main training center, athletes who had been working for weeks and months had the opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned in a formal grading environment.
Following the belt grading held one day earlier at Yıldırır Fight Academy, this time our own training center hosted the excitement as our young athletes took another step forward in their Taekwondo journey.
For some of our athletes, the day marked the moment when a journey that began with a white belt reached its first colored belt. For others, it meant moving on to a new level and seeing the result of the effort they had invested over time.
HELD UNDER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF AHMET EMİR TEKİN
The belt grading at our training center was conducted under the responsibility of our training coordinator Ahmet Emir Tekin.
Having closely followed the athletes throughout their regular training process, Tekin evaluated how they applied their techniques, concentration and knowledge under grading conditions.
A belt grading is not simply a short assessment in which a few techniques are demonstrated.
Every child who steps onto the mat brings with them weeks of practice, repeated attempts, moments of difficulty and the discipline required to keep going.
That is why there is always much more work behind a grading day than what is visible in those few minutes on the mat.
BÜŞRA EZGİ DUMAN STOOD BY OUR ATHLETES
Our coach Büşra Ezgi Duman was also present throughout the grading and supported our young athletes.
Having closely followed their progress through different stages of training, Duman’s presence added another meaningful dimension to the day.
The fact that our coaches take on different responsibilities within the same development process once again reflects our belief that an athlete’s progress is not built in a single day, but through continuity and teamwork.
Because before a child’s belt changes, many other things begin to change first.
Their posture changes.
Their confidence grows.
They learn not to give up immediately when they cannot perform a technique.
They learn to celebrate a teammate’s success, wait for their turn and understand that effort eventually brings results.
The belt comes after all of that.
EVERY COLOR TELLS A DIFFERENT STORY
One of the most meaningful parts of the grading was seeing athletes at different stages sharing the same excitement on the same mat.
Children who had recently begun Taekwondo experienced the joy of receiving their first belt, while athletes who had been training for longer continued their journey through yellow, blue, red and higher belt levels.
Every child started from a different point.
Each one learned at a different pace, struggled with different techniques and felt a different kind of happiness when they finally succeeded.
Yet one feeling was common to everyone at the end of the grading:
“I worked for this, and I moved one step forward.”
For us, this is one of the most valuable lessons the belt system can give a child.
To learn at an early age that every goal requires effort.
THE RESULT OF MONTHS OF WORK
A belt grading may last only a few minutes for each athlete.
But behind those few minutes, there are often months of work.
A child who is shy on the first day of training gradually finds their place within the group. A technique that initially feels difficult is repeated again and again. They get tired, take a break, and try once more.
Then one day, when they step onto the mat for their grading, all those small steps come together.
That was exactly what happened at our club’s belt grading.
The happiness on the faces of our athletes was not only the happiness of passing an exam. It was the satisfaction of seeing the result of their own effort.
PARENTS SHARED IN THE EXCITEMENT
Our belt grading was held with the participation of our athletes’ families.
Parents who had followed their children’s training journey over the weeks and months were once again there to support them on grading day.
We know how important family support is in a child’s sporting life.
Parents who bring their children to training, wait for them, encourage them and help them continue when things become difficult are an inseparable part of this journey.
That is why the pride on a parent’s face is just as meaningful to us as the smile of the child who earns a new belt.
THE BELT CHANGES, THE RESPONSIBILITY GROWS
In Taekwondo, earning a new belt does not simply mean moving up one level.
A new belt also tells the athlete:
“You now know more, and from this point forward you must work to learn even more.”
That is why the next stage has already begun for our athletes who completed the grading.
New techniques, new goals and new challenges now lie ahead.
At Alanya Budo Sports Club, we want our young athletes to continue this journey patiently, with solid foundations and with a genuine understanding of the core values of Taekwondo.
FOR US, THE REAL ACHIEVEMENT IS THE CHANGE WITHIN THE CHILD
Belt gradings are, of course, a technical part of Taekwondo training.
But for us, they carry a much deeper meaning.
Seeing our athletes become more confident, learn responsibility, work together with their teammates, understand that success requires effort and make sport a natural part of their lives is every bit as valuable as the belt they receive.
That was exactly the picture we saw at our club’s grading:
Children applauding one another, families sharing their excitement, and young athletes moving up one level after putting in the work.
We would like to thank Ahmet Emir Tekin for taking responsibility for the grading, our coach Büşra Ezgi Duman for standing by our athletes, all our parents for their continued support, and every one of our athletes for their effort.
We warmly congratulate all of our young athletes who earned their new belts.
Today, it was not only the color of the belt that changed. Each of our athletes grew one step further on their own journey.
